Why your site isn’t showing yet
A brand-new site is invisible until Google “discovers” and indexes it. Adding it to Search Console speeds up and secures that process.
Step 1 — Create a Search Console account
Go to Google Search Console with a Google account and add your “property” (your domain name).
Step 2 — Verify site ownership
Google asks you to prove the site is yours, via a DNS record or a file to upload. Most hosts and SEO plugins make this easy.
Step 3 — Submit your sitemap
The sitemap is your site’s map (often your-domain/sitemap.xml). Paste its address in the “Sitemaps” tab so Google knows which pages to crawl.
Step 4 — Request indexing of a page
For an important page, use the URL inspection tool then “Request indexing”. Handy after each new article.
How long before you appear?
From a few hours to a few weeks. Appearing doesn’t mean ranking first: position then depends on your content and SEO.
