Website Development for an Association in Cameroon – ACAGER Case Study

Case study of the website project for the Association pour la Cartographie et la Gestion des Ressources (ACAGER).

Project overview

The Association pour la Cartographie et la Gestion des Ressources (ACAGER) is an association of teacher-researchers, technicians and development stakeholders.

They needed a website to share the results of their scientific research through articles, a journal (RIGAGER) and geographic maps.

The work done by MboaGeek’s technical team on my association’s website has made our lives easier, letting us easily publish our work for geomatics enthusiasts and urban development stakeholders around the world.

President, ACAGER

Project details

For this project, we chose the WordPress CMS as the site’s foundation and the OpenStreetMap library for displaying geographic maps. The final site includes the following features:

  • The main pages (home, services, resources, gallery, etc.).
  • Pages for the biannual RIGAGER journal (scientific edition, introductions, article abstracts, downloadable document for each journal volume).
  • A geographic portal displaying the maps produced as part of the “Mapping window for resilience and adaptation to climate change effects in Ngaoundéré” project.
  • An internal MTN Mobile Money payment system for downloading RIGAGER journal volumes.
  • An internationalization module that lets the site be viewed in English and French.
